About us
Our Story
Hello, I’m Melissa Harris and Heart Space Playroom is something I’ve been dreaming up for a long time.
I’m a mom of two beautiful children, a 21 year old son and a 5 1/2 year old daughter. When my sweet daughter came into my life at a much later age and stage than my son, I found myself feeling very isolated and struggling with PPA/D. I longed for a space to go and connect with others. A place where I could set my little one down and let her play safely without having to chase her around to keep her safe. A place where I felt seen and heard. A place where I could exhale. I talked to many other moms about this vision over the years and always heard a resounding “YES! A place like this is so desperately needed!”.
Heart Space is a playroom for little ones to engage in imaginative and open-ended play. The deeper intention is to create a space of connection and community for those caring for them. My hope is that when you come here, you come in, kick off your shoes, make yourself a cup of tea or coffee, set down your little ones (and maybe some of your burdens ) and take a big exhale. I look forward to connecting with you.

What is the age range?
Heart Space was designed to be a safe space for younger children 0-8ish. We welcome older siblings and feel that play is fun for all ages. However older children must be mindful of using the space in accordance with what is appropriate for keeping our younger children safe. Things like running, tag and roughhousing are not appropriate in our space. We also ask that our space remain screen free, to not take away from this time of play and connection.
Can we wear shoes in the playroom?
No. Shoes must be removed to enter the playroom. Socks are required and grippy socks are highly recommended.
A playroom for little ones and those who love them. Heart Space is a place to play, imagine, connect and create community.
